A transparent roof for upward-facing cavities.
We use Cavity Covers to reduce accumulation of water in the interior of the tree, diminishing rot further down the trunk and consequent splitting damage from freezing of the water. Allowing light to pass through may help diminish decay compared to using an opaque material. Also this probably makes a good squirrel bauhaus.To my surprise no moss formation on these in ten years.
